Nava Movement- "From Roots to Sky"
Nava Movement- "From Roots to Sky"
Breath – Presence – Embodiment
Nava Movement is rooted in the ancient wisdom of dance as a healing art and transformative practice. It is a practice that embraces dance as both art and medicine: a holistic way of tending the mind, body, heart, and spirit.
Each session begins with grounding practices, movement rituals and elemental breathwork. Through guided improvisation, moving in unison (flocking”), cathartic release and embodied intention, we reconnect with the innate wisdom of the body and align ourselves with the rhythms of the natural world. Our practice is guided by breath and somatic awareness and draws inspiration from movements found in nature including the movement of circles, spirals and cycles. On the dance floor, we move like water, experiencing gratitude and humility, embracing both subtlety and intensity in our movement expressions.
Nava Movement offers a supportive space where we can explore dance as a pathway to deeper connection—with ourselves, one another, and the wider universe.
Open to all levels of experience.
This first cycle of Nava Movement classes, “From Roots to Sky” will be held outdoors in a park in Berkeley. Unfortunately this first round will not be available on live zoom. However, in the later Fall/Winter months the class will move to an indoor location.
