ABOUT
This immersion will dive deep into the technique, philosophy and movement signatures of Nava Dance. Sessions will be dynamic and include long warm ups, intensive training, an awareness of musicality, phrase work and finally choreography. The approach will be geared towards intermediate/advanced level dancers, and prior approval to register is necessary. The immersion will culminate in a performance on the last day of the session.
Nava Dance is a holistic movement practice developed by Miriam Peretz. Nava Dance is rooted in intentional movement and ritual to awaken the highest potential of self individually and communally. The dance practices are inspired by the movement of circles, spirals and cycles that we find within the physical, energetic, and universal body. Classes integrate intensive dance experience, sequences focused on healthy alignment and spinal fluidity, focused breath work, and improvisation. Nava Dance also draws inspiration from Silk Road (Central Asian) aesthetics, and from the devotional practice of whirling. Core essentials to Nava dance include- intention driven movement, finding alignment in body, mind and spirit, and nurturing deep sisterhood and connection through the art of dance.
This first Nava Dance Immersion is organized by Flor Menudita. Flor Menudita is an association and open community of artists who believe in the evolutionary potential of the human being through artistic practice. The association promotes well-being and personal growth through dance, conscious movement and videodance.

WHERE AND HOW TO ARRIVE
The retreat will be held in the beautiful natural surroundings of Ostuni, Puglia (Southern Italy) at the well-known Casina Settarte.
Founded in 1993, Casina Settarte is a centre for creative development and education alongside the practice of sustainability, a place of creative research and experimentation surrounded by nature.
The closest airport is Brindisi Popola Casale, is about 45 minutes by car to the retreat location. We organize a transport service to and from the airport.
